Former Libra Holidays commercial chief Steve Heapy has been named managing director of Jet2holidays.com.
He starts immediately in the newly created position with a remit to drive further growth by the tour operating arm of budget carrier Jet.com.
“I am confident that with Steve at the helm we will develop a really successful holiday brand for the North of England,” said chief executive Philip Meeson.
Heapy was previously responsible for product, commercial and operations at Libra and worked before that for MyTravel and Thomas Cook.
Meeson added: “Jet2holidays.com has been growing its package holiday products very successfully over the last two years, and we now expect it to play an increasingly significant role in tour operating going forwards.
“Steve will lead the business and take full responsibility for the next phase of Jet2holidays.com’s growth.”
