New boss for Qantas Holidays
Qantas UK and Ireland leisure sales manager Chris Rankin is to take charge of the airline’s tour operation in the UK.
He becomes general manager of Qantas Holidays on November 1, following 23 years with the Australian airline.
Rankin will focus on maintaining close relationships with the UK trade whilst exploring and maximising opportunities to grow the business and strengthen Qantas Holidays’ position as a major tour operator to Asia, Australasia and the Pacific, according to a statement.
Qantas regional general manager Stephen Thompson said: “This is a significant appointment for Qantas Holidays UK as we set about repositioning the business in a very complex and challenging market.
“Chris will bring strong leadership skills and an understanding of the market which he has gained in his current role.”
Meanwhile, Graham Chalmers has joined Qantas as corporate sales account manager.
He previously worked for ITG Sales and Marketing where he represented Caribbean hotels. Before that he worked for Conference
Solutions by Expotel as a conference and incentive executive.
