New boutique hotel for Singapore
Hotel Fort Canning will open in Singapore next month in a property once used as a base for the British Far East Command during World War II
Situated between Orchard Road, the Clarke Quay entertainment hub and Singapore CBD, Hotel Fort Canning has 86 rooms and suites.
Its restoration by Singapore architectural company, DP Architects, has kept a sense of old-style colonial glamour among many original features.
Conference and catering facilities include the ‘Battle Box’ World War II bunker where General Percival surrendered Singapore to the Japanese on February 15, 1942.
