New boutique hotel for Sydney
Boutique hotel operator, 8Hotels will open a hotel in the inner-city Sydney suburb of Pyrmont.
The AUD30 million redevelopment of a former wool store is set to open in March next year.
The hotel, named 1888 after the year the building was erected, will include 90 hotel rooms, a 60-seat bar-restaurant and boutique conferencing facilities.
The hotel is located close to the Sydney Convention Centre, Darling Harbour and Sydney Entertainment Centre.
8Hotels’ founder and CEO Paul Fischmann said he expected it to be "one of the most unique, contemporary hotels in Australia".
"Each hotel room will feature desks and shelves made from reclaimed and repurposed iron bark and we will also feature this beautiful Australian hard wood in the lobby and the bar-restaurant," Fischmann said.
