New build InterContinental Hotel to rise in Thailand’s Phang Nga Bay
IHG has announced a new build InterContinental for one of Thailand’s holiday hotspots.
The InterContinental Yao Yai Resort will rise in Phang Nga Bay, close to Phuket and within easy reach of the Krabi beach resort area.
Accommodation includes ocean view rooms, family friendly suites and private villas comprising one to three bedrooms.
IHG has sealed a deal with Soraya Development Company Limited which will see the 170-room resort open for business in 2020.
"Together with our trusted partner, Soraya Development Company Limited, we are delighted to bring our world-class InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand to Koh Yao Yai. We are expanding our luxury footprint to give affluent travellers a new destination to explore and unwind," said Rajit Sukumaran, IHG’s regional chief development officer.
The resort will have three F&B outlets, a fitness centre, swimming pool, spa, and luxury function and meeting space.
This is IHG’s third collaboration with Soraya Development Company after working together on Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels in nearby Krabi.
IHG has 24 hotels open in Thailand across brands including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo.
There is a development pipeline of 23 InterContinental hotels globally which are slated to open within the next five years.
