New CEO named for Tahiti Tourisme
Tahiti Tourisme’s board of directors have appointed Jean-Marc Mocellin as new CEO of the destination marketing organisation.
Mocellin officially steps into the role at the beginning of April.
Born in New Caledonia, Mocellin was previously CEO of Nouvelle Calédonie Tourisme and has worked for a number of global hospitality brands.
These include a six-year stint in Africa with the Sheraton Group before joining Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts, managing hotels in Fiji.
"Polynesian by heart, Jean-Marc Mocellin knows the destination The Islands of Tahiti perfectly as well as its inbound markets. He is passionate about Polynesian culture and very sensitive to sustainable tourism," said Nicole Bouteau, minister of tourism.
Day-to-day management of Tahiti Tourisme will be continued on an interim basis by Vaima Deniel, the chief local operations officer until Mocellin takes over.
