New Europe river cruise line launches
The first new river cruise line in six years launched yesterday in Europe.
A new cruise line officially joined the roster yesterday with the launch of Emerald Waterways, which yesterday began taking reservations for the 2014 season.
The ships will sail the Danube and Rhine rivers on 8- to 15-day excursions beginning in April, with fares starting at $2,142.
Each ship features an onboard heated swimming pool with a retractable roof, which in the evening, transforms into a cinema. There’s also alfresco dining and a new kind of indoor balcony, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows whose upper half can drop down to let in fresh air and provide full panoramic views.
Fares include meals, transfers, wi-fi, and shore excursions almost every day.
