New European airline offers its first UK service
European airline Volotea will launch its first UK service with twice weekly flights from Southampton Airport to Majorca for summer 2016.
The service which will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays from May next year, is already on sale.
On Wednesdays, it will depart from Southampton at 19:45 and arrive in Majorca at 23:05, leaving from Majorca at 17:05 and arriving to Southampton at 18:40.
On Sundays it leaves from Southampton at 19:05, arriving to Majorca at 22:25 and it leaves from Majorca at 17:05 arriving to Southampton at 18:40.
Dave Lees, managing director of Southampton Airport, said: "We are delighted to be the first UK airport that Volotea will provide scheduled services to.
"The flights to Palma are excellent news for people looking for independent holidays, those with second homes in Majorca, and anyone joining yachts or cruise ships in the Mediterranean. We look forward to welcoming Volotea to the United Kingdom in 2016."
Volotea was founded by Carlos Muñoz and Lzaro Ros whose first venture together was Vueling Airlines.
