New European Offerings
Leading first-class tour operator Globus is preparing to celebrate its 80th anniversary with the release of its largest collection of holidays in Europe and Britain.
Outlined in the new Globus Europe and Britain 2008 brochure, the collection ranges from a four-day romantic escape in Paris to a mesmerising 24-day tour of the continent’s most magical sights, with Globus offering a special Early Bird Bonus of savings of up to $550 for couples who book a tour and airfares before December 31, 2007.*
Created in 1928 by Swiss founder Antonio Mantegazza, Globus is known throughout the world for holidays that combine accommodation in superior hotels, first class coach transport, professional tour directors and special access to key attractions with significant leisure time.
With so many years of experience in Europe, the company is offering more than 100 holidays in its 2008 collection, including a new 13-day Highlights of Italy and Eastern Europe tour, priced from $2829 per person twin share. Travellers on this holiday can absorb the best of Italian history and food in Rome, Florence and Venice before heading north to the magnificent palaces and cathedrals of Vienna. The tour then heads to the cosmopolitan cities of Budapest and Prague before exploring Dresden and Berlin in Germany.
The brochure also includes new Monogram Independent Vacations, priced from just $599 per person twin-share for four days in London.
Designed to take the hassle out of independent travel by handling key elements such as accommodation and transportation, the latest Monogram offerings include seven days exploring the mystique of St Petersburg and Moscow from $1999 per person twin share, including high-speed train travel between these two unforgettable cities.
Also on offer are a range of Regional Discovery tours designed to let travellers absorb the culture and beauty of specific areas. These include an eight-day tour of classical Greece, visiting Athens, as well as the excavations and ruins of Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia, Delphi and Thermopylae, priced from $1339 per person twin-share.
Back by popular demand, Globus’ European collection once again features its memorable Cruise and Tour breaks, which combine big-ship cruise vacations with spectacular land holidays. These special tours start from $5279 per person for a 17-day Ring of Kerry escape, combining a five-day Globus holiday exploring the spectacular southwest of Ireland with a 12-night Princess Cruises trip visiting a range of British highlights, from the Loch Ness region of Scotland to Dublin and Belfast.
Globus marketing spokesperson Christian Schweitzer said travellers would be overwhelmed with the range of holidays featured in the latest brochure.
“With Globus, travellers can choose not only their holiday destination, but also their holiday style,” Mr Schweitzer said. “Our vacations are all about flexibility, choice and traveling at a pace that suits you – it really is a great way to holiday.”
