New Galileo appointments announced
Galileo has announced that Brad Holman will become Galileo’s Managing Director for the entire Asia Pacific region but will retain his responsibility for Airline Services, covering strategic management of airline relationships in Asia Pacific.
The appointment by Galileo, a leading global distribution system and major brand of Travelport is effective today and Mr. Holman is one of three global leaders reporting directly to Gordon Wilson, President and CEO for Galileo.
In his new role, Mr. Holman has responsibility for Galileo Asia Pacific’s financial results with Travelport recently announcing the decision to operate under three global businesses – Galileo, Orbitz Worldwide and Gullivers Travels Associates (GTA) and decentralize operations regionally in order to serve its business partners more effectively.
Mr Holman said “By moving to a decentralised structure we can get closer to our partners, simplify our business and speed up our decision making process.” “As a result we can invest in areas which are keys to our customer successes and provide the greatest value”.
Shelley Beasley has also been appointed Managing Director for Galileo Southern Cross, replacing Brad Holman with Ms Beasley having spent 6 years with Galileo and her previous roles including Director of Sales, Galileo Southern Cross, Country Manager for New Zealand and Strategic Account Manager with Galileo, USA.
Ms Beasley said “With the economics of the GDS world changing, I am looking forward to the exciting challenge of my new role and my focus will be on improving our processes, efficiency and quality, so we can deliver even greater value to our customers”.
Both Shelley and Brad will be based in Galileo’s Sydney office.
In another exciting development, popular industry identity Ailsa Brown will take over as Director of Sales assuming responsibility for the growth and retention of all Galileo accounts in the Pacific Region.
David Lee, who has held various sales roles within Galileo Southern Cross, has also been appointed Director of Business Development managing selected major accounts and exploring new business and third party partnership opportunities.
