New green offering by New England’s largest convention center
The Sheraton Boston Hotel, the largest convention center hotel in New England, says its new Meetings Innovations and Alive on Five programs that are part of a $50 million renovation is an effort to offer green and sustainable facilities for events of all sizes.
“This unique, pioneering meetings concept offers adaptive space more conducive to the next generation of travelers who are accustomed to less formal, more flexible meetings. The design of the new space is based upon feedback from meeting planners and requests for a new, contemporary space for today’s work style,” said Amy Aubin, a spokesperson.
Meetings Innovations is a brand-wide Sheraton initiative that will be piloted at the Sheraton Boston.
Meetings Innovations incorporates unique furniture and unprecedented lighting concepts, according to Aubin.
The new environment allows for smaller, more collaborative discussions with the capability for people to engage in multiple tasks with the technology and tools they are accustomed to having at their fingertips.
Alive on Five is a second new meetings offering from Sheraton Boston. It is described as a “fifth floor space dedicated to the environment and social responsibility.”
“The concept is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional, corporate meetings, with sustainable menus, ergonomic workspaces, recycled paper products and carbon credits,” Aubin said.
Alive on Five provides innovative, eco-friendly amenities including sustainable dining with locally-sourced menu options, natural lighting, water purified on property and office supplies made from recycled materials.
