New Indian low cost airline Flybig takes flight
The New Year ushers in a new entrant in the ultra-competitive India airline market.
Flybig, India’s newest carrier took to the skies with its maiden flight from Indore to Ahmedabad.
It is adding two more routes in the coming weeks starting with Indore-Raipur service from 12 January and Ahmedabad to Bhopal from 1 February.
It will initially operate three flights a week on each route.
It currently has one ATR aircraft and is awaiting delivery of a second which have a pink and white livery.
The planes have a 2×2 configuration with no middle seats.
The airline was founded by former pilot Sanjay Mandavia.
Indore in Madhya Pradesh will be the airline’s main operational base.
Due to the short duration of its routes, the airline said it will not be selling in-flight meals but will offer complimentary snacks.
Flights are open for booking at flybig.in/book
As a ‘friendly regional airline’ Flybig aims to ‘provide connectivity to destinations that were hitherto not accessible by air.’
