New N. Europe director for Hong Kong
Richard Hume is switching from the Tourism Authority of Thailand to become director northern Europe for the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Hume has been marketing and public relations director for TAT for three years and also worked for the Magic Travel Group, where he held a number of roles including head of brands and senior product manager for Italy.
He joins the HKTB on June 19 reporting to Sue Whitehead, recently promoted by the HKTB to the role of regional director – EMEA.
Whitehead said: “We are delighted to have secured Richard’s services after three very successful years with Thailand, and his tourism board experience and knowledge of Asia were important considerations for us.
“He joins at a key point in Hong Kong’s tourism development as we look to build on a record number of UK visitors in 2005 with major new attractions and infrastructure developments, plus our global 2006 Discover Hong Kong Year campaign. Richard will be working closely with our agent, operator and airline partners to ensure continued growth this year and beyond.”
