New on-demand ridesharing comes to Vegas
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada has entered the on-demand rideshare market.
It now offers trips from the airport along the Las Vegas Strip and downtown Las Vegas, called Trip to Strip.
Departing from the zero level of McCarran International Airport, the ridesharing service is being positioned as an affordable option for tourists, convention delegates and groups looking for a limousine-style service.
The route covers the Las Vegas Convention Center with pickups and drop-offs at the nearest RTC fixed route or paratransit stop, many of which are located near major hotels.
"Trip to Strip is designed as an extension of our transit service on the Las Vegas Strip but we do things Vegas-style," said RTC CEO Tina Quigley.
"We know travel preferences are changing, and our tourists are looking for new mobility options."
Each Trip to Strip vehicle has complimentary Wi-Fi and USB ports for charging, as well as space for luggage.
All vehicles are ADA-compliant.
Fares start at $6 and are priced based on distance and the number of travelers in the booking.
Rides can be booked via Android or iOS app and new users will get 15% off their first ride using the promo code ‘FIRSTRIDE.’
"RTC’s Trip to Strip will offer our convention attendees a convenient and affordable new way to get to and from the Las Vegas Convention Center," said Steve Hill, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
