New Regent ship sets booking records
Still 18 months before it sails its maiden voyage, Regent Seven Seas’ new ship Explorer is already a record-breaker.
Described by the line as ‘the most luxurious ship ever built,’ Explorer posted single-day and first week record bookings when reservations opened for the line’s loyalty members last week.
The ship goes on open sale to the public from February 4.
"The maiden voyage is nearly sold out, and demand for the inaugural season is extremely strong," said Regent President and COO Jason Montague.
The 750-passenger ship has garnered much media attention after releasing details of its 3,900 square feet Regent Suite – a two-bedroom suite with built-in spa which is claimed to be larger than the average American home.
The suite comes with a hefty price tag of $5,000 per person per night.
The ship will be the first newbuild for over a decade for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, which was acquired last year by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.
