New Royal Caribbean mega ship to homeport at Port Canaveral
Royal Caribbean International new ship, Utopia of the Seas will homeport year-round at Port Canaveral beginning July 2024.
The Oasis-class ship, the first to be fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG), will sail three- and four-day cruises to Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Utopia joins sister ships, Wonder of the Seas and Voyager-class Adventure of the Seas next year at Port Canaveral.
The port becomes home for two of the world’s largest three ships.
“Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas is one of the most anticipated new cruise vessels in the industry. We are thrilled to have her join us,” said Capt. John Murray, port CEO.
The debut of Utopia of the Seas sees several new features for cruisers, including the adults-only Hideaway Beach, set to open in early 2024.
There is also the longest dry slide at sea, plus newly designed resort-style pools.
Upon completion, Royal Caribbean’s newest addition will become the third largest cruise ship globally.
It will have 18 decks to accommodate 5,668 guests.
Utopia will boast five pools, three water slides and 21 dining venues
Bookings will open on June 23, 2023.
