New shopping and dining destinations to join Luxury Collection

General Growth Properties, Inc. added two new luxury shopping centers to “America’s Premier Shopping Places”, an unparalleled collection of tourism-oriented retail and dining destinations located throughout the U.S.A.

The first center, Natick Collection, which is located just minutes from downtown Boston, has undergone a comprehensive renovation and expansion. Visitors to Natick Collection will discover a collection of luxury retailers and world-class boutiques and restaurants, including Massachusetts’ first Nordstrom and second Neiman Marcus, as well as an array of world-class restaurants and cafes.

The second luxury center to join America’s Premier Shopping Places is the Shoppes at The Palazzo, a new project located adjacent to The Grand Canal Shoppes on The Las Vegas Strip. The Shoppes at The Palazzo will offer approximately 450,000 square feet of new shopping, dining and entertainment on two levels. The center will include seven new restaurants and approximately 80 new luxury retailers and international designer boutiques, including the region’s only Barney’s New York.

“Research indicates that domestic and international luxury shoppers spend almost 3 times more on vacation travel expenditures than the mass market,” says Susan Houck, VP of Marketing for General Growth Properties. “We’re confident these two new centers will be very well received by high-end travelers visiting  Boston and Las Vegas from the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and abroad.”

America’s Premier Shopping Places’ tourism portfolio also includes renowned outdoor festival centers found in popular urban destinations, conveniently located near international airports, major hotels, convention centers and cultural attractions. Each reflects the history, heritage and local flavor of their home cities, whether it’s Faneuil Hall Marketplace (Boston), South Street Seaport (New York City), Harborplace and The Gallery (Baltimore), Festival Bay Mall (Orlando), Bayside Marketplace (Miami), or Riverwalk Marketplace (New Orleans).

America’s Premier Shopping Places cater to both domestic and international fly, drive and motor coach travelers. All visitors to America’s Premier Shopping Places receive a Premier Passport filled with hundreds of dollars in shopping and dining savings, special offers and amenities, which are provided by their travel provider or downloaded from the website, http://www.americasshoppingplaces.com/. In addition, many centers offer travel trade professionals commissionable shopping packages, as well as assist group meeting planners with private events, pre-paid meal vouchers and group dining programs for food court cafes or full-service restaurants.
