New ski resort community takes shape in Utah
A new era for mountain tourism has arrived in Utah.
Deer Valley East Village, developed by Extell Development Company, in partnership with Reef Capital Partners, is taking shape as the most significant new ski resort community in North America for decades.
The Deer Valley East Village is not simply a new base area, it is a fully realized, year-round destination. Upon completion, the village will encompass over 800 hotel rooms, nearly 1,700 private residences, 250,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, and 68,000 square feet of dedicated recreation.
Located 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, Deer Valley East Village offers 1,200 day-skier parking spaces and the 10-passenger East Village Express Gondola connects the village base to Park Peak and the full Deer Valley terrain ski network.
Designed as a pedestrian-first, four-season community, Deer Valley East Village’s planned amenity program includes North America’s largest ski beach, and a 60,000 sq ft public recreation center with pool, fitness center, movement studio, tennis, and ball courts
There will be an outdoor amphitheater, community ice rink, and a children’s creative center with ski school and daycare.
It will house 32 restaurants and cafés, retail shops, and an outdoor holiday market and winter wine festival.
It will also be home to 100+ miles of summer hiking and biking trails; boating and recreation access at Jordanelle Reservoir
Deer Valley East Village will welcome several recognized hospitality brands:
Grand Hyatt Deer Valley — The first completed hotel in Deer Valley East Village. Open since November 2024. 381 hotel rooms, 55 private residences and 30,000 sq ft of conference space.
Canopy by Hilton Deer Valley — Opening summer 2026. Utah’s first Canopy by Hilton. 180 rooms with ski-in/ski-out access, rooftop bar, and après-ski lounge.
Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences Deer Valley — Projected to open for the 2027/2028 ski season. 134 hotel rooms and 123 private residences currently under construction. The first Four Seasons in Utah.
Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley — Announced February 2026 and projected to open for the 2028/2029 ski season. 132 hotel rooms and 105 condominiums planned.
Deer Valley East Village is the first new alpine ski village in North America in over 40 years, located at the base of Deer Valley Resort’s expanded ski terrain area in the Wasatch Mountains. It will feature luxury ski condos, branded hotel residences, gated townhomes, and private estate lots with golf club membership.
