New Waldorf Astoria hotel to soar over Miami skyline
The Waldorf Astoria brand is set to make its mark in Miami, in a development that is slated to fundamentally change the city’s skyline.
The Waldorf Astoria will debut in a skyscraper rising more than 1,000 feet above Biscayne Boulevard.
When complete it will claim the honor of Miami’s tallest building.
It will house 140 hotel rooms and 400 luxury condos
It is being developed jointly by New York-based Property Markets Group, Greybrook Realty Partners in Toronto and local design firm S2 Development.
"We are incredibly excited to partner with PMG and Greybrook Realty Partners to bring the first Waldorf Astoria to Miami," said Danny Hughes, Americas president, for Hilton Management Services.
"Miami is the perfect market for our iconic Waldorf Astoria brand."
Condo sales are expected to generate about $1 billion, the developers say.
Hilton-owned Waldorf Astoria operates 30 hotels globally including five in Florida in Boca Raton, Key West and Orlando.
