New York-bound flight diverted after man bit fellow passengers
A passenger was arrested after allegedly biting his travel companions and lashing out at other passengers on a flight to New York.
The JetBlue flight from Los Angeles was forced to divert to Las Vegas during the incident.
The unnamed man was restrained with help from other passengers after doctors who tried to help were also attacked.
One fellow passenger on flight 1224 said: "I grabbed his hands behind his back and held him there while the flight attendants put the restraints on him. At that point, he started yelling and tried to come towards the flight attendant, behind me, at the time. I really had a hell of a time keeping him in place there."
JetBlue said the unruly passenger was removed at Las Vegas and taken into custody.
After a delay the flight continued on to New York and landed without incident, JetBlue said.
Airport authorities said no charges have been filed yet.
There were 9,837 unruly and abusive passenger incidents on flights last year, IATA reported recently.
