New York Times expands tour program for 2015
The New York Times has expanded its travel program, now covering seven continents on 29 separate itineraries.
Some of the standout additions for the Times Journeys program for 2015 includes visits to countries with a volatile past such as Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Colombia, and also features a widely publicized trip through Iran.
Times Journeys will offer six immersive trip styles, such as ‘Activities and Sports,’ hiking the mountains of Patagonia or the French Alps, ‘Food and Wine’ – sampling Italian or Provençal cuisine or ‘Science and Nature’ to Antarctica or the African savannah.
Other itineraries will explore the history of China, Cuba and Iran, and take a close look at Northern Ireland peace process and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Each trip is accompanied with curated content from The New York Times and travelers will be joined by a Times journalist or dedicated subject matter expert.
"Since launching Times Journeys, we’ve learned that our customers choose to travel with The New York Times because of our longstanding and extensive knowledge of some of the most thought-provoking destinations in the world," said Michael Greenspon, general manager, news services and international a the New York Times.
Times Journeys programs started in 2012 and are created in collaboration with specialist tour operators Abercrombie & Kent, Academic Travel Abroad, Insight Cruises and Mountain Travel Sobek.
