New Zealand downgrades Fiji travel advisory
Late yesterday the New Zealand Government downgraded their overall Fiji travel from the next to highest level advisory to “there is some risk in the rest of Fiji”, while maintaining their “high risk to your security in Suva” advice.
While advising caution in the remainder of Fiji, this is seen as the first step in the downgrading of global advisors including the next to the highest level in Australia advising reconsideration of the need to travel, but this has not changed since 15 December.
Travel advisories by Australia and New Zealand in particular are seen as critical in restoring consumer confidence by consumers and the trade in travel to Fiji from these key markets
