No need for more TV ads, says industry
TV ads are not considered the best way to lure new customers, according to the travel industry, despite the phenomenal success of TV shows like Cruising with Jane McDonald.
Uniworld said it had received 1,000 new enquiries from cruise customers after the Channel 5 programme featured one of its ships.
And C5 said the four-part show, which debuted in February, was the most successful of its new launches so far this year.
However in a TravelMole poll, 52% of our readers said they didn’t want to see more TV travel ads.
