Non-exec role for Hughes at riverboat operator
Ex-P&O Cruises’ managing director Gwyn Hughes has taken a non-executive role at London riverboat operator City Cruises.
He has been brought in onboard to help steer the company through “the changing industry landscape”, a statement said.
Hughes is also a director of Bales Worldwide, chairman of the Cranley Group and communications consultancy Pinpoint Communications.
His appointment comes on the back of City Cruises’ launch of a sightseeing expansion strategy, which resulted in an increase in the number and frequency of boats operating the service.
Company chairman Gary Beckwith said: “Hughes’ broad industry experience complements that of the existing board members and we are delighted that he has agreed to join us at this crucial stage of our strategy development, in the run up to the Olympics.
“He will be invaluable in supporting the business during its future expansion.”
