Norwegian Getaway to play the SuperBowl as the Bud Light Hotel

Saturday, 07 Nov, 2013 0

The Norwegian Getaway will have a unique launch in January, following its maiden voyage across the Atlantic with a stint as a floating hotel for the Super Bowl.

Still under construction in Germany, the new ship will serve as "Bud Light Hotel New York" from Thursday to Monday, January 30 to February 2, 2014.

The short-lived hotel will host 4,000 guests at Pier 88 on the Hudson River.

The Super Bowl will be held across the river, at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey.

The game plan is for the Getaway to sail to Rotterdam on January 10, then to Southampton, England, for two one-night events.

It then will cross the Atlantic, arriving in New York on Jan. 26, and will host three days of preview cruises for travel agents.

The Bud Light Hotel will then take over the Getaway, as well as the deck of a retired military ship at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, docked at the next pier.

But sorry, travel agents, all rooms already are reserved for Bud Light retailers and guests.
