Now THAT’s what I call a sea view!
The world’s first luxury underwater hotel is under construction, with its opening planned for 2006. The Hydropolis Hotel is being constructed just off the Jumeirah coastline in Dubai, and will sit on the ocean bed some 20 metres below the surface of the sea.
The hotel will be constructed in three main sections, a “land station” where guests will be welcomed, a connecting tunnel that will transport guests by train, and the main section of the hotel, which will house some 220 underwater suites.
As for facilities, there will be a hydrotherapy spa, a ballroom, three restaurants, and a shopping centre, while the land station will house a business centre and conference facilities. For more information visit www.hydropolis.com.
