NRL and Accor team up to help boost economy
Hospitality group Accor and the NRL have announced a major three-year agreement with Accor becoming an accommodation provider for NRL players.
Andrew Abdo, CEO for the NRL said that the deal demonstrated the continued commitment and support of the NRL for the travel industry, creating jobs and helping local businesses and communities across Australia.
"The return of sporting events will help our economy recover quickly. People have been starved of live games, experiences and travel, and we know people are keen to reconnect."
"Teaming up with Accor and signing this deal signals our commitment to aiding our nation’s rapid recovery. We cannot wait to welcome our fans back."
Accor Pacific CEO, Simon McGrath said the partnership between Accor and the NRL will bring significant benefits for the economy and help the travel industry get back on its feet.
"Both sport and tourism have faced significant disruption throughout 2020; through this partnership the travel industry will work together with the NRL to deliver games for athletes and fans."
Accor has more than 340 hotels, resorts and apartments to choose from in Australia, across multiple brands from budget to luxury.
These include Sofitel, MGallery, Pullman, Swissotel, Movenpick, Grand Mercure, Peppers, Mantra, Novotel, Mercure, ibis, ibis Styles and ibis Budget.
