NYC embarks on largest MICE European roadshow
NYC and Company has begun its largest ever pan-European MICE roadshow, visiting Manchester, London, Paris and Brussels.
The week-long roadshow, ending on October 2, will see members of the Convention Development team and key suppliers showcase NYC’s offerings as a MICE destination to influential European buyers.
"New York City welcomed 6.1 million meeting and convention delegates in 2014, up from 5.9 million the previous year," said Jerry Cito, senior PR of Convention Development at NYC & Company.
"We are expecting to keep the same positive pace for 2015 and on track to welcome 6.3 million delegate visitors to the City’s five boroughs.
“The MICE sector is a vital contributor to New York City’s tourism economy and continuing the growth out of key European markets is a top priority for us."
This year has seen a number of developments across the City, including One World Observatory, the new Whitney Museum of American Art in the Meatpacking District and Lower Manhattan’s newest shopping destination Brookfield Place.
Alongside this, new hotels include the eco-chic 1 Hotel Central Park, The New York EDITION and Baccarat Hotel.
