Odds are good gamblers want to stay close to home
In light of weak economic conditions, odds are good casino-goers are staying closer to home, indicates a study.
TNS Travel and Leisure found that 40% of respondents 21 years and older said they were less likely to go to a casino 200 to 500 miles away from home.
More than 45% said they were less likely to go to a casino more than 500 miles fro home. Other findings:
· 44.5% were less likely to go on a casino trip by air
· 24% said they were less likely to go on a casino trip by car
· 17.7% said that they were less likely to go to casinos near home (11.8% said they were more likely)
The study focused on 14,000 individuals.
