O’Leary joins Ireland’s billionaire list
Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary has become Ireland’s latest billionaire, according to the Sunday Independent’s Rich List 2016.
The airline’s chief is now worth €1.08 billion, as Ryanair’s share prices continues to rise on the back of strong passenger numbers.
Earlier this month, it forecast full-year profits to the end of March will reach the upper end of the guided range of €1.17bn-€1.22bn.
It also increased predicted passenger numbers from 105 million to 106 million.
O’Leary, aged 55, is one of 14 Irish billionaires – double the number just five years ago.
