Oman bets big on AI tourism hub
Visit Oman is accelerating its digital tourism strategy with the launch of a new AI-powered hub designed to strengthen the Sultanate’s tourism ecosystem and improve collaboration with global travel partners.
The new platform brings together data, analytics, and artificial intelligence to help tourism stakeholders deliver more personalized visitor experiences, smarter marketing campaigns, and stronger operational decisions.
By centralizing digital capabilities, the hub is expected to simplify coordination between government bodies, travel trade partners, and international source markets.
AI-driven tools will provide real-time insights into visitor behavior, booking demand, and market performance, allowing tourism authorities and businesses to respond faster to changing travel trends. The system will also support content personalization, campaign targeting, and overall customer engagement across the visitor journey.
Oman welcomed approximately 3.8 million international visitors in 2024 and 3.2 million for the first 10 months of 2025, with tourism continuing to play a growing role in the national economy. The sector contributed more than USD 5.2 billion (RO2 billion) to the economy last year, while visitor spending approached USD2.6 billion (RO1 billion), underlining tourism’s importance in the country’s diversification strategy.
The launch of the AI hub aligns with Oman’s broader push for digital transformation across key industries, with tourism positioned as a major pillar of future growth. The country has been investing heavily in hospitality infrastructure, destination development, and technology-led visitor services to strengthen its competitiveness on the global stage.
It also reflects a wider industry trend as destinations worldwide increasingly use AI and data platforms to modernize tourism management and improve the end-to-end travel experience for visitors.
