On the Beach reveals fastest-growing winter destinations

Saturday, 27 Sep, 2018 0

Booking data at online travel agent On the Beach has revealed that Tunisia and Israel are this winter’s fastest growing destinations, followed by the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Turkey.

Overall, Spanish destinations remain the most popular this winter, with the Canaries, mainland Spain and the Balearic islands taking the top three spots.

Turkey is in fourth place, having leapfrogged both the Algarve and Greece.

Malta, Morocco, Egypt and Cyprus complete the top 10.

La Palma – one of the smallest Canary Islands – offers the best value for money, according to On the Beach research, followed by the Costa de La Luz on Spain’s Andalusian coast.

Holidays to Izmir in Turkey, mainland Greece, the US and the UAE are cheaper this year compared to 2017, it said.

The company said it wasn’t able to provide price comparisons, but it said it’s findings were based on average selling prices for each destination.
