Once-loved Pet Airways is in the doghouse
The airline created by a California real estate developer is stalled, "stranding cats and dogs and leaving their unhappy owners holding the leash," reports the New York Times.
Dog and cat owners are angry about canceled flights. Travel sites are abuzz with complaints, including customers who claim they have not received refunds for paid-for flights. And the company is burning through cash at a rapid rate.
The co-founder of Pet Airways, Alysa Binder, termed the company a "pioneering" effort to ensure more comfortable circumstances for the increasing number of pets who have become air travelers.
If that all sounds familiar, Pet Airways is now suffering a fate similar to its counterpart’s that cater to human travelers.
