Stansted operates most Christmas flights in three years
London Stansted projects more than 650,000 people will take Christmas flights.
It is set to be the airport’s busiest festive season for three years.
In comparison, 300,000 passengers flew out during the same time last year.
December 23 is set to be the busiest day for Christmas flights with 78,000 passengers,
Just 4,000 are estimated on Christmas Day.
Spain’s Malaga, Alicante, and the Canary Islands are popular destinations this Christmas.
Early season skiers are heading to the slopes in France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and Scandinavia.
The airport recommends customers prepare for security checks to avoid any unnecessary delays.
“Passengers should follow their airline’s advice about when to arrive at the terminal for check-in or bag drop.”
