Online travel agency goes into receivership
The parent company of French online travel agent Ecotour.com has been placed in receivership while it looks for a buyer, according to reports in the French media.
RPC Voyages, which has been controlled by Germany firm Tomorrow Focus since September 2012, said it had been hit by the crises in its flagship locations, especially in north Africa and Arabia, and by the weak economy in France.
It will continue to operate under a court supervision order while seeking a buyer. It said the bankruptcy procedure could allow the company to meet its challenges, and to ‘preserve as many jobs’ if a buyer appears.
The agency’s turnover was € 45.18 million in 2013, against 48 million in 2012
