Online venue & service search engine expands to Asia & Pacific Islands
The hugely popular Australian and New Zealand online venue & service search engine www.eventconnect.net is expanding throughout the Asia Pacific.
After generating more than $30 million worth of business for venues and event product suppliers in Australia and New Zealand since its inception in 2004, www.eventconnect.net is now offering Asia Pacific operators a free listing on its site.
Managing director, Steve Coombes, says the system has been so popular because it is so simple to use and is such a time-saver to busy event planners.
“Event planners are continually praising the system. They can search and find venues & services that suit their needs and make a single enquiry DIRECT to their shortlist in a matter of minutes,” he said.
“With one click of the mouse the venues or services they select are emailed a brief on what the client wants and can respond in equally fast time. It has put an end to searching through the generic search engines or yellow pages and looking at dozens of separate websites.”
Mr Coombes says the expansion of the system throughout the Asia Pacific has been driven by buyers, many who are seeking venues beyond Australia and New Zealand.
He says that marketing professionals for venues and event suppliers in these new regions have nothing to lose by adding a listing to the site as there is absolutely no fee structure at all for the new regions for 2006.
“Given that the ranking in the search results is based on the date the listing is added we expect to see the regions ready for release to buyers very soon” said Mr Coombes.
