Dublin, Ireland, December 2nd, 2005- OpenJaw Technologies, a leading provider of XML travel technology solutions, today announced that it has agreed to supply its internet booking engine for travel, xRez, and advanced XML middleware technology, xDistributor to Travel AS, in order to create Scandinavia’s first Travel & Events Distribution Switch. Travel AS’s vision is to connect all of the main participants in the Scandinavian travel & event industry directly to each other by providing the industry’s switch for direct distribution of travel inventory through a single interface. “Travel’s business idea is to be the switch for Superbooking® solutions in the Scandinavian market for travel & events. We sought a technology partner who could provide a flexible, scalable and proven solution for the integration and distribution of multiple Scandinavian suppliers inventory across many distribution channels.” said Toralf Ekelund, General Manager of Travel AS. “The OpenJaw proposition is a great fit for both Travel AS and our customer’s requirements. We are also confident that this technology platform will sustain our future growth. First to innovate with this solution will be the airline SAS Braathens in Norway. Testing within specific communities will be performed in the coming months.”
Commenting on the new partnership, OpenJaw’s SVP of Sales & Marketing, Declan McGuinness said, “Our partnership with Travel AS has a double benefit.
