Operator adds 40 new tours!
When it comes to getting off the traditional tourist trek its hard to beat the Explore! Worldwide excursions marketed by Adventure World.
In the brochure just released for 2008-9 there more than 300 itineraries in 120 countries which include programs in traditional regions like Africa, the Middle East and South America but there are scores or more adventurous tours into the remote corners of the Earth.
Forty new itineraries have been added to the group’s range this year.
They include an eight-day Corsican Villages tour which offers a bus and walking tour of the cooler mountain areas in high summer or the lower altitudes in spring or late summer.
Rail fans will be enthusiastic about the 10-day train journey from Malaga in Moorish Spain to Algerciras and then from Tangiers to Fes, Casablanca and Marrakesh sipping wine and mint tea and eating tapas and cous cous.
In the Middle East the nine-day Heights of Oman is a new itinerary exploring the secrets of the old trading port of Muscat and the Omani deserts.
Sailors will love the Greek Caique Cruise which takes an eight-day seatrek from Rafina around mountainous Evia Island off Greece’s east coast.
Adventure World marketing manager Emi Weir says that the Explore’s range of combinations is virtually limitless, providing travellers with experiences of every kind.
Explore Worldwide holidays are designed as informal, small group exploratory holidays, averaging 16 people, using a variety of transport, such as minibus, train, local bus, canoe, raft, camel and light plane, and mostly small hotels with a reasonable degree of comfort.
Ms Weir says that the packages appeal to people with an interest in diverse cultures and a resilience to tackle new situations and, importantly, there are no single supplements for those willing to share a room, they are the same price for one person as they are for people traveling as couples.
She added, “All the trips are within the capabilities of people who enjoy good health and are reasonably active. About half are couples and the remainder people traveling solo.”
