Cox & Kings is to restart its holidays to Egypt in response to the Foreign Office’s change of advice on travel to the country.
The FCO lifted its warning against all but essential travel to major cities in Egypt on Monday, although it does still advise that there is a significant threat of terrorism and unpredictability in Cairo and other destinations.
The operator said that clients who had their holiday to Egypt cancelled but would now like to reinstate their booking could do so by contacting their travel agent or tour consultant.
A statement from the company said it had been assured that all museums and tourist sites had been reopened and tourist infrastructure was in place.
Middle East and North Africa product manager Mark Stacey said: “Egyptians want to welcome tourists back to experience their hospitality and see what their country has to offer. March is a perfect time of year to find some winter sunshine in Egypt and the coming weeks should present a wonderful and rare opportunity to experience the great sites of Cairo and the Nile valley without the usual high number of visitors”.
