Opodo has added Amadeus to its source of hotels inventory.

The deal brings the number of hotels offered by the pan-European online travel portal to more than 65,000.

The partnership will give the Opodo’s 12 million visitors a month Opodo access to Amadeus’ range of independent and chain hotels in 186 countries.

Opodo hotels director John Ryan said: “This partnership with Amadeus enables us to offer our discerning travellers a wide range of hotels in the top destinations around the world.”

By partnering with Amadeus, Opodo says it is enabling hotels to seamlessly manage rates and availability and avoid the use of extranets, “thereby supporting the company’s philosophy of working with partners on a supplier-friendly model, building long-term partnerships both with key intermediaries as well as direct to hotels”.

Amadeus Hospitality Business Group managing director Antoine Medawar said: “Opodo is a major new distribution channel for Amadeus Hospitality, viewed by 12 million visitors a month. Additionally, Amadeus distributes hotels in its system to 360,000 travel agency and airline points of sale in 217 markets around the world.”
