Opodo continues content development

Online agency Opodo has continued to diversify its content with the introduction of sightseeing tours with a twist.

The Amadeus-owned company is offering what is says are “alternative” experiences including a ‘Dearly Departed Tour’ which takes tourists on a grissly journey through some of Hollywood’s most infamous and sinister deaths – the site of the Manson murders being one of the ‘attractions’.

Other tours can see visitors chasing tornadoes through Tornado Alley in Oklahoma or training to be an astronaut in Orlando.

PR and brand manager Louise Clark said: “People are always looking for that added extra to make their holiday really special – not to mention the one-upmanship factor.”

The addition of tours is a further attempt by Opodo to move away from its airline routes and shed the image it is predominantly a flight-only site.
