Orbitz opens program to agents

Sunday, 10 Aug, 2004 0

Orbitz says that by opening its Premier Affiliate Program to agents it is offering them a new low-cost travel option.

Orbitz said the move was enabled by deregulation of the GDS industry.

“With GDS deregulation completed, Orbitz now has an opportunity to provide travel agents with a booking tool they can count on to be unbiased,” said Mike Stein, vice president of marketing.

Orbitz will pay its usual commission for referrals: $5 per airline ticket, $6 per retail hotel booking, %12 for each merchant hotel booking, and $2 per car rental booking.
