Orlando top family choice

Sunday, 13 Jul, 2004 0

Orlando came out as the top vacation choice for families, according to agents in a national survey of Travelsavers Inc.

The second runner-up for families was cruising, particularly in the Caribbean, followed by Mexico, the rest of Florida, Hawaii and California.

The survey showed the majority of families spending up to $3,000-$3,999 on a typical vacation. Another one third, or 30%, paid $2,000-$2,999. Only 1% budgeted less than $1,000 for the trip.

About 60% of surveyed families vacationed together for 7 to ten days, while 39% chose four to six.

Relaxing on the beach topped the list for vacation activities, followed by thrill seeking at theme parks, cruising, road trips, family reunions and educational/learning experiences.
