Outrigger appoints GM to new Outrigger Beach Club Port Douglas
In the lead up to the opening of Outrigger Beach Club Port Douglas on October 1, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts’ has appointed senior tourism industry stalwart, Tony Allocca to the position of General Manager.
The latest five-star addition to the group’s Australian portfolio of properties commands a prime position looking out on to palm-fringed Four Mile Beach and will open its doors to the public with Mr Allocca at the helm.
As General Manager, Mr Allocca will be responsible for the daily operations of the resort including staff training, market development, front and back of house supervision, and food and beverage operations ensuring the new address meets the expectations of Outrigger guests, while maintaining the group’s reputation as a leading accommodation provider.
Joining Outrigger from Peppers Palm Bay Resort on Long Island where he held the position of General Manager, Mr Allocca brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industries.
Commencing his early career as an award-winning chef in restaurants spanning the east coast of Australia, he held positions in both the food sector and senior management in well-reputed resorts including Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island, Kooralbyn Resort in the Gold Coast hinterland and Cable Beach Club Resort in Western Australia.
