OYO rolling out guest SOS alert tool
Fast growing India based hotel chain OYO is rolling out an industry-first in-app SOS button for guests.
Guests experiencing an emergency situation will be able to immediately alert hotel staff as well as the round-the-clock OYO Safety Response Team.
It can also trigger a call to local law enforcement if required.
Guests are given two options – ‘contact OYO Safety Response Team’ or ‘Call Police.’
The company says the typical response time is three minutes.
It will initially launch for guests in 25 Indian cities.
A pilot programme is already taking place in Gurugram.
The SOS tool is integrated in the app but in addition to OYO Assist, which provides automated help for various issues such as modifying bookings, hotel information and claiming refunds.
"Ensuring guest safety at all times is a priority for us. At OYO, we believe that technology is an enabler and can help us offer enhanced safety solutions to all our guests," the company said.
