Pandaw River Expeditions appoints new COO
Pandaw River Expeditions has appointed globetrotting Anthony Dupont as its new chief operating officer.
He will oversee all fleet operational standards and develop new routes and expeditions.
Based in Phuket, he will travel around the Pandaw fleet and manage standards and staff training programs.
Dupont has worked in over 40 countries and settled in Asia in 2001, and was previously in sales positions at Aman Resorts and more recently at The Sarojin.
By the end of 2014 Pandaw will have 12 river boats operating in Burma, Vietnam and Cambodia.
From next year Pandaw will be the first to sail coastal cruises in Myanmar on a motor yacht and will start new river cruises in Laos and Northern Vietnam.
Last week Pandaw founder Paul Strachan said he hopes to be able to cover the entire Mekong River "within two years" traveling through China, Burma, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia.
"It would take about 21 days in all with a change of ship on the Cambodia-Laos border; this was how it was done in French colonial times," Strachan said.
