Passenger blames mom after rifle found in carry-on bag
A man was arrested at Baltimore Thurgood Marshall Airport after a rifle was discovered in his carry-on, and immediately shifted the blame to his own mom.
Ryan Moore, 22, claimed he was unaware the firearm was there as his mother packed his bag.
The collapsible rifle was confiscated after TSA screeners alerted police.
The .40 caliber rifle is the 20th gun discovered at BWI this year.
In 2017, 26 firearms were discovered at airport security screening.
The excuse of ‘forgetting’ to remove a handgun from a bag before traveling to the airport is the common explanation for hundreds of travelers every year, but is a little less believable for a rifle, albeit a collapsible one.
Moore of Hagerstown, was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, violating airport security procedures and having a weapon in the airport.
