Passenger faces fine for opening emergency exit
An airline passenger faces a fine of more than £400 for deliberately opening a plane’s emergency exit.
The 29-year-old man apparently yanked open the window door, releasing an emergency slide, to allow a woman with a screaming child to make a swift exit from the plane, which had already landed.
Apparently neither the woman nor the child used the exit, which cost the airline several thousand pounds to re-install.
Le Van Thuan told authorities he was trying to help the passenger and her child get off the Vietnam Airlines’ flight faster when it landed at Ho Chi Minh airport.
After the emergency activation, the plane was taken out of service.
