Passengers injured when plane skids off runway in Myanmar
All 33 passengers and crew were injured after a Biman Bangladesh Airlines skidded off a runway at Yangon International Airport in Myanmar.
Flight BG060, a Bombardier Dash 8, was badly damaged, but no one was seriously hurt, said Bangladesh High Commissioner in Yangon Manjurul Karim Chowdhury.
"All are injured more or less but no one was in critical state. However 15 of the injured are hospitalised," Chowdhury said.
Bad weather was likely a factor, said the airline’s PR general manager, Shakil Meraj.
Flight operations at Yangon were suspended and other flights were diverted to the capital Naypyidaw.
The nose and both wings were damaged and photos show the fuselage almost broken in two.
