Passengers on disabled Norwegian Jade bag full refund and free cruise
Passengers on the Norwegian Jade’s canceled Caribbean cruise will get a free cruise as well as a full refund on their Thanksgiving trip, cut short due to a mechanical issue.
The 10 night Southern Caribbean cruise left Miami on November 16 but only got as far as first port of call San Juan.
It was scheduled to make additional calls at St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Barbados, St. Lucia, and St. Maarten.
Passengers were informed of the mechanical issue and forced to leave the ship Tuesday, which is sailing back to Miami for several days of repairs.
Norwegian arranged charter flights to fly passengers back while reimbursing up to $650 in change fees.
The line says it will refund the cruise in full, and offer a 100% cruise credit for a future sailing based on the amount originally paid.
The line still hasn’t disclosed details about the mechanical glitch.
